With the recent opening of the new mrt services, I thought of exploring the commute possibility from my area (Rawang).
Went on to check Google map and apparently it'll only take 1 hour to reach my work place.
So, without thinking too much, I tried yesterday. My route is Rawang to Bank Negara (KTM); walk to the LRT station to get to Plaza Rakyat; connecting walkway to MRT; one stop from Merdeka station to Bukit Bintang.
LRT ride - 1-2 minutes per coach, very good frequency
The LRT & MRT ride are easy and fast, only requires less than 15 minutes. The one that was affecting the trip most was KTM ride.

There is very limited train that covers Rawang - for the morning trip, 1 hour apart from one another while for the evening trip,another 1 hour apart for the next train.

With that, I was 1 hour delayed to sign into office and 1.5 hours delayed to reach home.
Then, we talk about the cost. It's not cheap as compared to my current travel mode of driving to titiwangsa monorail to park and ride.
Here's the breakdown if I were to commute from Rawang:
Parking - RM5.30
KTM ride - RM4.10 x 2
LRT & MRT ride - RM1.50 x 2
Total per day: RM16.30
KTM ride - RM4.10 x 2
LRT & MRT ride - RM1.50 x 2
Total per day: RM16.30
If it's to drive and park, then commute:
Parking - RM5
Monorail ride - RM2.80 x 2
Total per day: RM10.80 + RM 2 (petrol)
Monorail ride - RM2.80 x 2
Total per day: RM10.80 + RM 2 (petrol)
I guess I just stick to drive, park and commute :)
