The word 'fine dining' could be considered as a total stranger to me. Until the day I know that I have Frangipani Restaurant & Bar as my client, I then understand the term better.

Speaking about fine dining, the first thought that might come into your mind is EXPENSIVE. What about second thought? I guess it is none other than it must be SMALL in portion...

You are not totally wrong for having that mind side. It is just a normal association.

Oh well, I read through an interesting article about fine dining in Food Digest magazine. Let's start with the setting of a dining table.

As you may see from the above image, there are tons of cutlery on the desk. Some restaurant has a slightly different setting where there are more than a fork and a knife laid on the table. If that is the case, which one should we start with?

The answer is to start from an outside-in manner. I remembered my first ever food review at Frangipani. I wasn't aware of the table setting and I was hesitated to start when the first dish served. I waited and waited till one of the guest started, I then followed the same thing. Phew...

There are a long list of rules and guide to fine dining. Feel free to research or google them and you will be able to understand the term more and this will be a good addition to your knowledge =)
