Family vacation: A taste of Japan on cruise

Japan is a country that Wayne wanted to visit all this while. However, due to the recent nuclear leakage, we were told and adviced that we shouldn't step into Japan for 6 years since we have plans for children. Hence, it was always a no even when there is such opportunity arise.

Finally, we managed to get a good deal to go on a cruise holiday. Princess Cruises is operating its Taipe-Okinawa-Ishigaki-Taipei, a 4D3N cruise itinerary. Without any hesitation, we signed up for it!

One family shot before we board the plane from KL to Taipei. It was 5am, so so so early...

Speaking about cruise, the only two companies that I've not been on are Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean. This time round, I've Princess Cruises checked.

Princess is considered as luxury categories and it's known as an elderly ship. The vessel could accommodate to more than 3,000 pax - it's pretty huge, on par with Genting Dream that I went on early of the year.

This was taken when we were on a tender boat to Ishigaki

The itinerary started with boarding in Keelung Harbour before people 4pm. We were brace enough to take the earliest flight into Taipei, giving us 4 hours of lead time before boarding. But, what we didn't expect was the immigration that took us almost 1.5 hours to clear! We suspected that there were a couple of big fleet arrived at the same time, hence, the delay.

One thing Taipei Taoyuan airport could consider is to have priority clearance for elderly, pregnant lady and family with kids. The little one was kind enough to behave and queued for 1.5 hours without too much of annoyance and misbehaviour. Apart from that, the signage was not clear as there was no indication on our luggage collection belt number. What we did was to scan each belt and thank god we spotted our unique gold color luggage.

We don't travel with stroller. So, we put the little one on the luggage trolley instead

It took 1 hour from airport to the Harbour. For Wayne and I, it was a good refresher as we did our pre wedding photo shoot in Keelung, brought back all those memories 4 years ago.

This is our cabin card, also your on board IC. You will only need these for everything - transaction on board as cruise is practicing cashless transaction, ID recognition, etc.

Once we arrived at the port, at 3 plus, we were ushered for immediate check in and boarding. As we were rushing from airport, we didn't have lunch. Our first itinerary was to fill up our stomach for sure!
The balcony cabin. very comfy

My mum posing at the balcony, but actually, she "loya" big time...

We chosen a balcony cabin and Wayne was happy that he could see the sail off of the vessel. Check out my next post to share more on Okinawa and Ishigaki!

Japan, we are coming!
