Today will be a historical day for all PR Y2S3 UTAR students... 3 months internship is starting today ^^
I had been attached to GO Communications Sdn Bhd =) After dropping mum to her office, I headed to my company located in BU Centrepoint. It was quite jam around the traffic light to 1 U area. Other than that, the traffic is consider ok la!!
I reached there around 8.35am and I found a place to park my car without paying =) Although I don't need to pay, but I need to walk!!! The distance will be around 5 minutes walk?? But thinking of the parking fee inside the BU Centrepoint "territory"... is worth the walking =)
I went to the office straight away la!! But the clocks bothers me... Outside the log in time is like mine, but the clock hanging inside already strike 8.55am!! Hmm... Which one shall I follow?
Sheree took me into the office and introduced me around with everyone ^^ I have 8 colleagues which are all females and 2 boss which are males... My boss is a-mour [foreigner] some more wei... A bit like Tom Cruise!! Ideal guy for Puiks xD
My first task is cutting newspaper and pasted them into what they called News Clips. This was a part of Media Monitoring =) This was an easy job...
We went for a staff meeting around 10am... Apparently it was their 1st day after holiday-ing as well!! Many things need to be sorted out and my boss was the cover story in ADOI mag, Dec 08 issue!! I had a warm-welcome from everyone of them and I can feel the friendliness among them ^^
After the meeting, I need to continue my cutting and pasting job. Since my supervisors were no there to give me another task, I helped Rachel to settle the news clips stuff. We need to scan the artwork into computer for further references... Well, I learned a new skills: scanning!!
Michelle, my supervisor, wants me to do fax a media invitation to some of the media.This was the 1st time I used fax machine, fax services... Of course I need guidelines la!! 1st timer ma... Michelle told me how and how and I managed to follow!! Only throughout the end I found some technical problem...
Went for my lunch in one of the shop in BU Centrepoint and went back to office to continue some stuff. I managed to catch a few articles about my boss cover story... Interesting!!
Michelle and Charlene will be out to meet clients. I have another task which is calling the media to ensure that they have receive the invitation via mail or fax. From 2pm to 5.30pm, I hang-on to the phone until my ears feel the pain...
There were so many of media in the list and I need to call one by one to repeat the same question: "Do you receive an email about a media invitation on Papa John's Pizza Launch happening this Thursday at Berjaya Times Square?"
This was fun and tiring as the phone never leave my ears for 3 hours...
Some of the information in the list was not updated. I need to double check again about the list on and off to ensure I get the correct person... Eh, ok ok la!!! monotonous only lo...
I left my office around 5.40pm while others were still in the office. I need to rush to PJ to pick my mum!! My intern started of quite ok la!! However, before I left the office, Sheree mentioned that she had something to tell me tomorrow... Straight away bad things come to my mind... Fire me?? I did something wrong?? Will I be fired and become one of the most happening intern for just working a day??
